Terms of Use

These terms are the rules for using Filmaker.org. By using the site, voting or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Who can use the site

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

Your account

Each person may have one account. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens on your account. Use an email address you can access, since it is how you reset your password.

Usernames are public. Don’t choose one that impersonates someone else, or that is offensive or misleading. We may change or remove usernames that break this rule.

Voting

Each person can vote on each filmmaker once every 24 hours, with or without an account. Votes must come from you, a real person. The following are not allowed:

• Creating or using more than one account to vote.
• Clearing cookies, switching browsers or devices, or using a VPN or proxy to vote again before the limit resets.
• Using bots, scripts or any automated way to vote or create accounts.
• Buying, selling or trading votes or accounts.
• Any other attempt to manipulate scores.

For 14 days after a filmmaker releases something new, votes on them count more. We may remove votes and suspend accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.

About the scores

Scores are calculated from the votes of the people who use the site. They reflect those people’s opinions. They are not facts, reviews or the views of Filmaker.org, and they are not endorsed by the filmmakers or studios shown. Filmmakers’ names and photos are used only to identify them.

Movie data

Filmmaker details, photos, movies, series and release dates come from The Movie Database (TMDB) and may contain mistakes or change over time. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the site for anything unlawful. Don’t try to break into accounts or systems, disrupt the site, overload it with requests, or copy large parts of it by automated means.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we may change or stop offering the site at any time.

No warranty

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Filmaker.org is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your use of the site or from information shown on it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the new terms.
