About

Filmaker.org keeps a running score for filmmakers based on what people think of their work right now. Anyone can vote a filmmaker up or down once every 24 hours, no account needed.

How scores work

Scores run from -100 to 100. A filmmaker everyone votes up gets close to 100, and one everyone votes down gets close to -100. Green scores are positive and red scores are negative.

Recent votes count the most. A vote loses half its weight after 30 days, so a filmmaker who releases a movie people dislike will drop quickly, and can climb back with their next one.

For 14 days after a filmmaker releases a movie, a new series or a new season, every vote on them counts 10 times as much. Scores can swing hard during a release.

Filmmakers start with a score based on how their past movies are rated on TMDB. Those starting votes fade the same way as everyone else’s, so the score soon reflects votes made here.

Filmmakers with something out in the last 14 days are shown at the top of the home page.
